How to wake up before sunrise everday and love it
I have worked from home for a number of years now. The internet being my income vehicle on this wild ride into the 21st century and the days have usually began whenever I would awake.
While this seems attractive for some folks there are a lot of things you miss waking at sporadic times throughout the day, especially if you awake painfully early enough to watch the magnificent ascent of the sun from the horizon.
Have you ever noticed that the most successful people in the world tend to wake up very early? This is a common denominator for many brilliant people across the globe and very different cultures.
I have noticed the few times I managed to get up prior to the sun I always seem more energetic throughout the day and even seem to function better mentally and physically.
Now logically you may think that the best way to sleep is go to bed when your tired and wake up whenever you awake. I’ve followed this idea for many years and it just doesn’t compare.
Try this for yourself, it’s not nearly as intimidating to just set out to get up very early one day and notice how you feel throughout the day and how you react to stress. I have noticed that I have a certain extra energy that I just can’t explain for the entire day and this is something I have come to crave.
Now I have been playing with this for a number of months and have noticed that if I goto sleep at the same time every night and get up early it becomes hard to goto sleep. So I just wait till I get sleepy and then get up at 6AM each day.
Now I’m not gonna tell you there aren’t days I really don’t want to stick to my early rising but I have managed to get in the routine of jumping right up with the alarm and it seems to help avoid those sleepy mornings.
If you have trouble sleeping at night try not going to bed yet. Go for a run and then a hot bath. This seems to always rush me off to sleep for the night.
This post is a little off topic from our normal internet marketing help content but us marketers especially need to get plenty of rest to reach our potential!
Give it a try for yourself, I find my creative juices really flow with a cup of coffee before the sun comes up.

I started getting up at dawn about 2 years ago. It really changed my life, I find myself much less stressed out by day to day things and I love that coffee you mention in the morning when it’s just you and the birds awake.
Oh if it would work for me!! I’ve always needed too much sleep and I’ve never been very healthy.Yet I do notice that when my son unexpectantly wakes me up early my mind goes straight to alert, like a bullet-no two cupsof coffee..yawns and shuffling around. When it was warm and I ran everyday the more I got done and better I felt, now its’ cold I’m not pressured to get things done so I can run and I actually get less done! This article will help jumpstart me into getting up for a solo early morning run. Thanks.
I am with Pat Wells- the advantage of early rising is beating others to punch on a variety of things. If you happen to trade stocks then it helps, but if you are just looking to get ahead in work- the clarity of not having significant others in the way or children really helps!
Wow! thanks a lot. This gives me a whole new perspective on mornings. I usually hate waking up early, but now i realize it’s because I don’t give myself enough time to collect myself. Instead I’m always in a rush and in a mission. I will definitely take this blog into my personal life.
When I was a working evening student, my default productive hours was from afternoon to 2 am. After classes ended at 10 pm, I still had to study for the next day. This meant that my mornings were spent in a haze, just trying to recover from my punishing schedule last night. When I graduated, my body kept reverting to that schedule. However, since I didn’t have classes anymore, the midnight hours were spent surfing and watching movies, and ending up too stimulated for sleep. Not really productive.
I agree with what you said about “I have noticed the few times I managed to get up prior to the sun I always seem more energetic throughout the day and even seem to function better mentally and physically.” I’m trying harder to let go of my old habits and embrace new ones.
You never know how much you are missing in life until you start getting up early and you learn how much in can change your life and outlook on the world. Even if its tough start by getting up a half hour earlier each day until you finally are waking up with the sun, you will be surprised on how much more you can accomplish, and gow your viewpoint of the world around will change to a more positive one. great info, thanks
Now that you mention it, I really do think I tend to be less stressed during the day when I wake up VERY early. By all means, I am not a morning person & it takes every effort in my body to get up @ a decent time. But thinking back on the times that I have gotten up before sunrise, I do feel better throughout the day.. I need to take advantage of the mornings. Thanks.
I really do need to try this approach to the start of my day. I have a 14 month old son and I could sure use more energy. Along with getting up early should come a good morning routine. I think I’ll make it a New Year’s resolution!
A very great read and an interesting perspective. I myself am a avid sleeper and have been absorbing as much information as possible about sleeping. Like Lucid Dreaming(which is possible I found out) and also how taking a nap between 10 minutes to 20 minutes every day helps you’re body go to sleep at night and re energizes you!
The biggest trick is to nap around the same time of day everyday. You’re body is a very adaptive machine and will after time, wish you did nap at that time every day. Never nap over 20 minutes though! Or else it may disrupt you’re sleep cycle and especially the all-important R.E.M. cycle(Dreaming)
Even if the advice for waking up early is a little off topic, I think it is good advice for people in any field. If you wake up at the same time it gets your body into a rhythm and as you get used to it you will feel more awake and productive. I think that it’s admirable that you are sticking to it, I imagine it is difficult. But I think the way you are going about it is the right one by letting your body telling you when to go to bed. Thank you for the advice!
I love to wake up early in the morning, as it is quiet and peaceful, gives me a headstart for my work. I am calm and cool during the day, as all my tasks have been completed according to my plan. Secondly, early morning is the best time to observe beautiful things, like the birds chirping, the sun rising etc. I prefer to get up early in the morning, and even on weekends my alarm goes off early, though I set it 15 minuted late than what I set during weekdays. I believe in the saying, “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise.
Waking up early is a pain, but when you put in the effort, you realize how much more time you have and how they can put to much better use. And yes, I would agree it does keep you energetic throughout the day, your mind sharp and focused.
Well one can learn a lot from this . One big advantage is that it makes you feel good from inside so one can work a lot more on a day . laziness seems to get away . Wonderful article this is . I will definitely take this blog into my personal life.

Another advantage to waking up early is that it is usually ONLY you that is up. You have quiet, quality time to gather your thoughts and think about your day before you have to deal with other people and their agendas.
